During the shooting of The Real World: California (1993), her first-ever TV show appearance, Tami had become the first reality TV star to have an abortion featured.

While she was working on the show, she had formed an all-girl R&B quartet named Reality where she was the lead rapper. They had composed a track called Prisoner Of Your Love but it was never recorded as the group had an uneasy relationship with their producer. The band, which was later renamed Female, did record a couple of songs after this but they never released a studio album.

In December 2016, she had co-authored a self-help book titled Mistress 101: The Guide to Keeping Your Relationship Cheatproof.

In 2018, she had released a series of videos on Instagram, titled Bonnet Chronicles, which was later adapted into a scripted series for TIDAL, a Norwegian subscription-based music, podcast, and video streaming service.

In 2019, she had collaborated with shoe designer Jessica Rich to launch ‘The Rich Roman’ footwear collection consisting of strappy, heeled sandals, and fitted booties.
